parental relationships...
- Parental surveys, simple or complex, for current, past or prospective parents
- “Managing Parents”- a widely acclaimed Inset that builds staff confidence and the School’s reputation
- “Partnering School” - a session for parents that builds appreciation and helps manage their expectations and behaviour
- Ad hoc advice and support in difficult situations
Parental satisfaction is the key to any school’s success, and parental delight ensures it. Yet Simon’s Law © says that “every school is better than its parents think it is”. That means there is scope to improve your image and your reputation just by giving parents better evidence of how good you already are.
Many teachers are wary of confident, “pushy” parents who consider themselves experts on children and learning; while many parents are wary of teachers who speak teacher language, hide in classrooms and evade direct questions. Parents misunderstand teachers and teachers misunderstand parents, yet everyone wants the best for the children. Simon’s “Managing Parents” training is highly effective at giving teaching and admin staff greater appreciation of what parents want and how to work with them, whilst “Partnering School” explains how to get the best out of a school, in parent language.
Simon also undertakes parental surveys in various formats, so that you can identify how your school is perceived, areas for improvement and strengths that are going unnoticed. Surveying current parents is obvious, but past parents have wisdom and prospective parents can tell you why they chose St Brilliant’s instead.
The above is a huge and complex area and we are very happy to explain more of what is possible – just ask.
